Our Backyard

Tuesday afternoon. It's a gorgeous sunny day. Dave and I headed to Cypress to ski sans any weekend crowds. (Ya, I know, we got it good.) What. A. Day. Aside from the fact that I totally kicked ass on the hill (Dave will surely comment on what a ski goddess I was), it was a completely clear sunny day and the views were incredible. It is so stunning it leaves you speachless. This is our back yard. I don't know what more to say. This really is the best place on earth!!!

At the top of Sky Chair I was stunned by the 360 views of the lower mainland, since every other time I've been to Cypress it's been foggy and seeing the tips of my skis has been a challenge. I had no idea what and how far you could see! From the Lions, to Bowen Island, North towards Squamish, the entire city of Vancouver and way beyond to the Valley and Mount Baker and everything in between. A 40 minute drive from my beach backyard, my mountain backyard is truly breathtaking.

Now if only I could figure out how to lay out my photos properly...these are just a few to give you a taste of our truly stunning backyard. Jealous?

hmmm...going to th mountains to get a 360 degree view. I stand in an empty hay field, covered in snow, the ground is flat and i can see 360 degrees and edmonton, of which i am 25 kms away from. Oh yeah, and if my dog runs away, i can still see him for three days. Flat it is, i miss the mountains, glad you had a great day skiing and by ther way, did you know we had a ski hill in downtown edmonton, well, THEY call it a ski hill, you'll have to see it for yourself and make your own judgement...trraaaaccckkkkkk!!!!

Um,,,,shouldn't you guys be doing housework, or working, or getting groceries, or working to end world hunger or some such thing? But no I'm not jealous...why do you ask?

LOL at Gary's comment about your dog running away and still seeing him for 3 days...ha ha.

Seriously Ange, I LOVE winter and SNOW scenes and just the sight of your photos put a big smile on my face. Glad you had such a wonderful day and that you kicked ass on the hill....better than landing on your ass or going ass over tea-kettle.......
